Yet again, I find myself apologising for neglecting my blog.
Another update of the things i’ve been doing…
My creative partner and I have decided to part our ways as he has just landed a job at Sapient Nitro (formally DAD) in Battersea, London. I’m very pleased for him and wish him all the best in his new job, as this is a fantastic opportunity for him!
I have now decided my strengths at the moment lie within planning, strategy, account handling and media. This comes from me being a very well organised individual, with a great eye for detail, ability to pitch and present to clients and able to write great understandable briefs. This is why I am now looking for jobs and internships/placements within account handling/planning roles, mainly junior account executive roles.
Finding a job in this area started out tough as I had very little experience on my CV in the field of work. So, I decided to hop down to London for a week or two. I emailed about 20-25 agencies regarding a bit of advice or some work experience and one got back to me, explaining they would love me to come and work with them for a week.
This agencies was Proximity London, situated near Marleybone Tube Station. I had a great time experiencing working in an agency, working in London (loving rush hour, obviously) and working with the team there.
While I was on placement there, I worked with the P&G products team on general day to day accounts. Jobs included; generating keywords for websites, researching Twitter sites, embedding YouTube videos into websites, researching digital campaigns at the moment and general client and creative account handling.
This was a great experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Proximity and do hope to go back soon. From getting this experience on my CV it has opened up interviews for similar job roles for internships and actual jobs. So, things are looking up!
